Tempus Metals was founded by Katie and Liz, two lifelong friends, artists, and jewelry designers who believe every piece should hold meaning as well as beauty.
Their work blends centuries-old mourning traditions with modern design, resulting in jewelry that feels timeless yet deeply personal. Unlike mass-produced pieces, every Tempus design is handmade in small batches or fully bespoke, using solid gold and traditional enameling techniques, rarely practiced today.

Our jewelry is crafted using ethically sourced 10k, 14k, or 18k gold, natural diamonds, and enamel. You can choose from rose, white, or yellow gold, and select enamel in white, blue, or black. Looking for a different color? Just reach out—we’re happy to accommodate custom requests.
Jewelry production typically takes six weeks from start to finish. If your piece includes custom text, you’ll receive a design proof within 72 hours. After approval, you can expect your finished piece in about five weeks. Add an extra week for engraving.
You can have your finger sized at a local jeweler (using a similar band width), or purchase a ring sizing set from Amazon like this one. Make sure the ring sizer slides on your finger fairly easily but needs to be wiggled over the knuckle in order to be removed. It’s best to size your finger at a time when you’re not swollen, and not too hot or cold. Most enamel rings cannot be resized. Read more on our full FAQ page.
