Why Is Cremation Jewelry Worn to Honor Loved Ones?
The Significance Behind Cremation Pieces
Many people wonder if it’s appropriate to carry ashes in jewelry. We believe this type of memorial jewelry can be deeply meaningful. For many, cremation jewelry offers comfort, closeness, and a way to integrate memory into daily life.
At Tempus Metals, we design each piece with dignity and care, fusing your loved one’s ashes into enamel while creating something truly beautiful. It’s a personal choice, but one that often brings solace in grief and connection beyond loss.

Frequently Asked Questions
Each piece is crafted with your loved one’s ashes using two methods, depending on the metal.
For 18k gold, ashes are mixed with finely powdered glass and placed into recessed areas of the design, then fired in a high-temperature kiln to permanently fuse them to the metal, creating a smooth, luminous enamel finish.
For 10k and 14k gold, ashes are combined with a high-quality resin and applied to recessed areas, curing to a glossy finish that closely resembles glass enamel.
Only about ⅛ teaspoon is required, though we request 1 teaspoon to allow preparation. Any unused ashes are returned.
Request a free cremation kit when ordering. We’ll send a vessel and prepaid envelope, and confirm when the ashes arrive safely.
