Every custom piece begins with a story. Whether you’re redesigning an existing ring, creating something entirely new, or honoring someone you love, our process is designed to guide you from idea to heirloom — with care, transparency, and intention.
Starting a custom order
Custom doesn't have to be complicated. Our process begins with a conversation, not a commitment.
To start, email Email Support@Tempusmetals.com with:
- inspirational images or sketches
- sizing details (if known)
- metal preferences (gold color, karat, etc.)
- any stones, material, or sentimental elements you'd like incorporated
From there, we'll review your ideas, ask thorough follow-up questions, and provide a personalized quote based on your design, materials, and timeline.
If you're unsure about details, that's okay. Guiding you through those decisions is part of our role.

Once we align on the overall direction, we translate your ideas into a detailed 3D CAD model. This allows you to see proportions, setting style, and overall form before anything is made.
You’ll receive photo-realistic renderings for review, and we’ll refine the design together until it feels exactly right.

After final design approval, your piece enters production. Each custom piece is hand-cast, assembled, set, engraved, and polished by our master goldsmiths using time-honored techniques.
We work in precious metals only and never rush this stage. Every detail — from stone placement to surface finish — is handled with precision and care.
Before leaving our studio, each piece undergoes a meticulous inspection to ensure structural integrity, comfort, and lasting beauty.

And finally, it’s time to pick up your finished piece. After the ideas, design work, and craftsmanship that went into bringing it to life, you get to see the finished jewelry in person for the first time. From the initial concept to the final polish, every detail was created specifically for you. Now, it’s ready to leave the Tempus Metals studio and become part of your collection.

Absolutely. If you have meaningful gemstones from a family member or a previous piece of jewelry, we will do our best to incorporate them into a new piece.
We do not have a minimum budget for custom projects; all pricing is based on current market pricing for gold and silver.
We’re happy to refine and adjust your design as much as needed during the planning phase to make sure everything feels just right. Once you’ve approved the final design images and production begins, the piece moves into fabrication and can no longer be altered.
Finishing times depend on the complexity of the piece and the number of changes requested for the design. Typically, custom design takes about six to eight weeks. If you require something sooner, we will always do our best to accommodate you.
